Grade 10 - Dealing with brackets

Mar. 2: DO NOT FORGET MATH HELP TOMORROW AT LUNCH!!!! :)
Today we did a very short note on dealing with brackets.
When multiplying, multiply each term first.
ie: 3(2k + 3)
= 6k + 9

Ex. 1
2(k-5) = 4(3k + 10)
2k - 10 = 12k + 40
Collect like terms
2k - 12k = 40 + 10
-10k = 50
divide both sides by -10
k = 50/-10
k = -5

Check: LS = RS
LS
2(k -5)
= 2(-5-5)
= 2(-10)
= -20
RS
4(3k+10)
= 4(3(-5) + 10)
= 4(-15 + 10)
= 4(-5)
= -20
Therefore LS = RS

Complete: #1-6, [7, 9, 11, 13](Show CHECK for two of these), 20, 22 Challenge question: #25
